Summary

The present day, nuclear power plants are generating around 50% electricity in Ukraine. Thus, reliable and economical work of Ukraine’s NPP power units determines, at a significant rate, energetical safety of the country. Ukraine’s NPPs are equipped with power units and reactors of VVER-type, in which the heat exchange between the first and second loop coolants is made through the steam generators (SG), that is not only an important element of NPP heat scheme, but also a barrier for spreading radioactive substances. NAEC "Energoatom" draws a great attention to upgrading SG reliability and has acheived some successes in this field.
