Summary

This paper proposes further development of symptom-oriented approaches to identification of initial events list and justification for control strategies of beyond-design emergencies and severe emergencies in shell-type reactors in order to increase overall NPP environmental safety level and to minimize or exclude possible dangerous environmental consequences by scientifically grounded algorithm of severe nuclear emergency control.
