Summary

On the basis of analysis of known declarations about the causes and lessons of severe accidents at Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant proposed by the authors' comments on the need for more effective approaches safety reassessment of existing and planned nuclear power plants. Used in the stress-tests of Ukrainian NPP safety reassessment methodological support modeling of possible flooding at industrial sites beyond design basis earthquake is insufficiently substantiated. Therefore the findings of stress-tests for the safety of Ukrainian NPPs under extreme environmental impacts believe premature.

Keywords: severe accident, safety reassessment
