Summary

The problems of the further fuel-containing materials management from the point of view of regulatory requirements, criteria, nuclear and radiation safety, the possibility of the final transformation of the "Shelter" object of the Chornobyl NPP into ecologically safe system in the long term was analyzed. Special retrieve zones of the fuel-containing materials are allocated, their analysis from the point of view of safety, impacts on personnel and the environment, the possibility of removal using the main cranes of New Safe Confinement were carried out.

Keywords: fuel-containing materials, radioactive waste management, the New Safe Confinement, the "Shelter" object
