Summary

The results of comparing the measurement characteristics of the classical detectors coaxial type GMХ-30190-PS (crystal 59?58 mm) and a planar GL2020R (crystal 50?20 mm) when used for ?-spectrometric determination of radionuclides Chernobyl genesis in environmental samples. It is shown that the use of planar detectors can improve the signal/background, minimum detectable activity reduce, reduce the time of measurement of samples while maintaining the statistical error, to improve the identification of radionuclides due to the increased resolution and higher detection efficiency at low energies.
