Summary

Description of structure and possibilities of decision support system, which is used for an estimation and forecast of possible accidental releases of Rivne NPP is presented. It includes the modern atmospheric transport models, dose models of external and internal exposure, and also module of urgent and emergency countermeasures estimation (according to demands of NRBU-97). Using a decision support system, the calculations of consequences of possible beyond design basis accident are conducted for a population within the supervision area of Rivne NPP. It is shown that the increase of iodine prophylaxis efficiency due to decision support system using can provide the substantial reduction of the avertable doses to thyroid for members of the public.
