Summary

The results of the study of natural gamma activity of soil and sediments of the Carpathian region's biggest rivers as Uzh, Latoritsy and Borzhava demonstrate the sensitivity of mountain ecosystems to the fac-tors of human life. We investigate the features of spatial and seasonal contents of the most common radionu-clides which serve as markers of the industrial and geochemical features of the mountain regions. It was con-cluded that the process of Carpathians mountains self purification have the cyclical nature of the radionu-clides content caused their washing from soils.
