Summary

Results of multidaily experiments on pumping of atmospheric aerosols in Chernobyl zone through dual-layer compositions of fibrous filtering materials are presented. It is found that the basic sediment accumulation of dust at blowdown with rates 83 and 165 sm/s occurs in the frontal layer. Because of that, the resistance of filters continuously increases. The using of the prefilter from coarse-fibered filtering material, in particular, FPP-70 or PETF-100, with a standard resistance of 0.1 - 0.3 mm of water column reduces dust loading on the main filter FPP-15-1,7 and increases term of its operation. The collection of fine droplets of fog or rain increases the resistance of filter material. However, if it is made of hydrophilic fibers, the resistance during some time after the end of fallout returns nearly to the value have been observed before of rain.
