The comparative analysis of genome instability cytogenetic parameters for birds species: Great Tit (Parus major), Domestic Chicken (Gallus domesticus), Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papuа), Chinstrap Penguin (P.antarctica), Adelie Penguin (P.adeliae) and South Polar Skua (Catharacta maccormicki) was carried out. Blood smears were fixed in 96% ethanol and were stained with 2% Giemsa stain. The mature erythrocytes (10.000 cells for each bird) of peripheral blood were analized. The rates of micronuclei (MN) and nuclear anomalies (NA) were estimated. There are most frequently registered nuclear anomalies (NA): "budding nucleus" (bn), "two-lobe nucleus" (tln), "tailed nucleus" (tn) and "nucleus with cavity" (nc). Average rates of MN are 0,11±0,02 ‰, NА - 0,70±0,06 ‰ for P.major; МN - 0 ‰, NА - 1,14±0,11 ‰ for Gallus domesticus; МN - 0,05±0,02 ‰, NА - 0,34±0,06 ‰ for P.papuа; МN - 0,02±0,01 ‰, NА - 0,68±0,08 ‰ for P.аntarctica; МN - 0,17±0,02 ‰, NА - 0,62±0,08 ‰ for P.adeliae; МЯ - 0,01±0,01 ‰, NА - 0,42±0,04 ‰ for C.maccormicki. The species' features of cytogenetic parameters of bird genome instability are discussed. The possibility of studied parameters using to ecological monitoring are proposed.
