Summary

This study is based on the investigation of the development of tumor growth among persons who suffered from the Chernobyl accident. It is shown that radiation damage in low dose range of 3- 15 cGy was the main reason of malignant neoplasm formation. Modified polygon of distribution of absorbed doses of radiation of liquidators, with indicated malignant neoplasm formation after their staying in Chernobyl zone was the main object of presented study. Linear, linear-square functions and piecewise linear splines were used for the investigation of modified polygon approximation problem. It was established that the best approximation is provided by piecewise linear splines.
